Hi! I’m Asterwild, an artist based in the southeast USA. Approximately thirty years ago I began drawing my favorite animals with crayons and markers and a lot of love. I’m still doing more or less the same thing today.
I primarily work in digital illustration, inspired by historical natural science illustration as well as beloved animal storybooks and animated movies from my childhood. I am endlessly curious and enthusiastic about our non-human neighbors and the world we all live in, and seek to share that through my art. When not drawing or doing art-adjacent work I can be found entertaining my pets, reading about maritime disasters, exploring my local forest, or daydreaming about living in a secluded old cabin in the mountains.
