Foster Kittens

The universal cat distribution system strikes again! In April I acquired a pregnant former stray who was in need of good food, flea treatment, and a little love.  She made herself at home and soon gave birth to three adorable kittens.

While I'm more than happy to give these guys a good start in life, I absolutely cannot keep them; I already have three cats (who were themselves orphaned kittens rescued and raised by me) who are not keen on having any more roommates!

Mama and kittens will be ready to go to new homes in late July or early August depending on when we are able to get them spayed/neutered and started on vaccinations. There is a rehoming fee of $150 to cover the spay/neuter cost. I'm located in east central Alabama and while local-ish adopters would be great, if you're willing to travel to AL or surrounding states, we'll try to make it work!

I've dubbed mama Cosmo, and with a little help from my online followers, the kittens were named: Asteroid Belt ("Bell"), Jet Propulsion Laboratory ("Jet"), and Dark Matter ("Mattie"). Don't you want to adopt a cat with a weird name from some random internet artist? You'll have a fun story to tell. And a cat. It's a great deal.

Cosmo

Female, calico. Estimated 1-2 years old

Cosmo may be a little shy at first, but some snacks and scritches will quickly win her over! She's very sweet and does her best to make friends with my own cats without pushing their boundaries. That said, I certainly don't think she would mind being an only cat, or being adopted with one of her kittens.

I'm doing my best to give the kittens lots of new, positive experiences to help ensure they are confident and well-rounded cats! Kittens and Mama will all be introduced to nail clipping and wearing harnesses before they go to their new homes.

I (and other far more experienced Cat People) recommend adopting two kittens instead of just one. Of course, we don't have an even number of kittens so we can't pair them all off. It would be fantastic to have all three kittens adopted to one home! But I know that's a lot to hope for. More realistically, I'd like two kittens to go together, and the other to either go with mama or to a home that already has a young-ish playful cat, but all interested applicants will be considered!
